About Pantry Scale
Pantry Scale is a set of kitchen converters and short guides for home bakers in the United States. It helps you turn a recipe written in cups into grams, read an oven temperature written in Celsius or gas mark, and resize a recipe for a different pan.
How we work
Every ingredient weight comes from a named, published source, shown next to the result. Right now that source is the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart. Unit definitions follow NIST Handbook 44. The conversion code is checked by automated tests with cases worked out by hand before anything goes live.
We use AI tools to help draft and review text. Every number in a guide is checked against its source and against our converter before publication, and the Pantry Scale Editorial Team is responsible for what we publish.
What we don't do
We are not affiliated with King Arthur Baking, NIST or any appliance maker. We don't sell scales or pans. A converter gives a good estimate. Your own flour, your own oven and your own pans can still differ.
